With all of the criticism and horror stories in the news these days regarding airports and airlines, I would like to take this opportunity to tell everyone what honest and dedicated employees we have at our own Muskegon County Airport.
On Sept. 26, my husband, mother and I were leaving from the Muskegon airport on a trip to Las Vegas. I inadvertently left my purse under a seat in the secured pre-boarding area of the airport. In that purse were not only almost $500 in cash, but also my ID, two credit cards, my cell phone and my husband's medication.
This story has a good outcome because of the honest, dedicated employees at the airport who not only found my purse, but worked diligently to find me to let me know it was found. Using my cell phone, they located my son and had him call my husband's cell phone to let us know that my purse and it's belongings were safe. They also worked with the Las Vegas airport to get my purse delivered to me the very next evening with all contents intact.
To whichever employee found my purse, you are my hero! To Theresa, who located my son, and Michelle, who worked with the Northwest agent in Las Vegas, you went above and beyond the call of duty to assist in getting my purse to me, which certainly gave me peace of mind and made my vacation much more enjoyable. It is employees like you who should make us all realize how great it is to have access to the Muskegon County Airport!
Kudos to you all! I know I will be flying out of Muskegon at every opportunity!
L.A., Muskegon
